The Novella "3 on a Bed" continues with the story of the same three characters but while the film tries to capture a bigger canvas, the novella delves deep into the interpersonal conflicts of the three protagonists.

Sarmistha’s 1 Day for Love through the exploration of a young woman’s obsessive fear of the festival of Holi (The festival of colours in India), explores the evolution of gender and class politics over a period of three decades ultimately culminating into an all-encompassing indifference infecting the fabric of the Indian society.

For those of us in the poly community, who can't travel to India to see the film, the book will have to suffice. But fortunately the book will give us a deeper look into the dynamics of the characters.
